Forum: prelinger Subject: Re: I Love the Prelinger Collection but why can't I just burn a dvd?

I just changed the .xxx extension to .mpg, and the MPEG2 files played in my DVD player from a data CD with no re-encoding. Some of the Prelinger MPEG2 files have the extension .mpeg, some .mpg, and others have the double extension mpeg.mpg or mpeg.mpg. The files will work in my player either with the .mpg or .mpeg.mpg extensions. It's as simple as renaming the files with the proper three-letter extension.

I'm on the PC platform.
